  1. International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program Grade Information Assessment Policy Information and Report Card Updates

  2. Assessment Policy Information • During the unit, students will complete many formative assessments • These will appear in many different formats but should all be connected and help build towards the unit’s summative assessment • These are the “practice” where the students are acquiring the learning and working through misconceptions • Each unit will culminate in a Summative Assessment • The summative assessment format will vary depending on the subject and unit content • It could be a project, essay, investigation, test, etc. • The Summative Assessment will be scored based on the student’s level of performance in subject specific criteria using a rubric or rubrics. These rubrics are provided by the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program for each content area and are the same in any IB MYP school.

  3. Assessment Policy Continued • Marking Period Grades will be determined by the score on the Summative Assessment • This score will initially be in the form of an IB raw score • The raw score will be converted to a scaled percentage using the guidelines which were provided by the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program • The grade on the RCSD report card will reflect the converted scaled percentage • The IB MYP raw score will be recorded on our MYP report card which will make it’s first appearance to parents in the second marking period.

  4. You will receive TWO report cards in the mail for Marking Period 2!!!! You will receive the normal RCSD report card that you have always received. You will also receive the new MYP report card!!!
