Entry requirements Interpreting Requirements: • Community Interpreting Level 3/ Diploma in Public Service Interpreting /MA in Interpreting /a recognised language degree/ registered with NRPSI. (In cases of rare languages, the minimum criteria would be evidence of 400 hours Public Service Interpreting.) • Security Clearance -CRB (enhanced) • Clearance of the UK Government Baseline Personnel Security Standards (BPSS)

Entry Requirements Minimum requirements Desirable requirements • Degree-level or equivalent education. • At least one year’s proven professional experience in translation. • Expertise in at least one technical specialist area (e.g. Medicine, Finance, Mechanical Engineering). • Translator’s target language must be their native language. • Translators must be located in-country or actively keep abreast of changes in their target language and its most up-to-date usage. • Translation Agencies must be located in- country or in the same geographical region as the languages they offer. • A recognised qualification for translation (MA, Certificate, Diploma). • An accreditation from a translation body. recognised by the International Federation of Translators (ITI, BDÜ, SFT, etc.). • Accreditation from other recognised industry organisations. • Provision of two professional references. Compulsory requirements • Successful completion of a test translation within a subject specialism and language combination.
