Diwali. Mrs. Karamuri visited our nursery. She came to tell us about Diwali. Charlotte , Isaac and Jack had been to a special party to celebrate Diwali at Navid and Sanjana’s house.

  1. Diwali Mrs. Karamuri visited our nursery. She came to tell us about Diwali. Charlotte , Isaac and Jack had been to a special party to celebrate Diwali at Navid and Sanjana’s house.

  2. Mrs. Karamuri was wearing a beautiful traditional sari. Her mum had sent it from India for her. It took 3 months to sew the silver threads to make the beautiful flower patterns. It also had sequins and glass beads sewn on it.

  3. As Diwali is a happy celebration Mrs Karamuri was wearing lots of bright colourful jewellery too. Can you count her bangles. Diwali is a Festival of Light. Look at the little candle holder. It is star shaped and painted with bright colours. Mrs. Karamuri told us that she had lots of candles lit in her house for the celebration.There were also fireworks outside at night.

  4. Rama and Sita We listened to a story about goodovercoming bad.

  5. Rangoli Patterns We are going to try some simple patterns. Not as hard as Mrs. Karamuri’s! Step 1-dots Step 2 Step 3

  6. We had a super visit from Mrs. Karamuri. Thank you very much!

  7. We made our own diva lamps. Recipe • 2 cups of flour • 1 cup of salt • 1cup of water

  8. Method Mix and squeeze!

  9. A Festival of Light! We painted them yellow and red We glittered with golden glitter!
