Sonora-Mohave Desert Renewable Transmission Project Proposal • Potential project being defined for transmission for renewables in Western AZ and southern CA • All elements and variations thereof identified through statements of interest received in a public process conducted by Western Area Power Administration last spring • Feasibility study to start this year

Sonora-Mohave Desert Renewable Transmission Project Proposal • 4 potential elements: • 3 500-kV lines • 2 potential double circuit 500/230-kV • Phased development—based on element “readiness” • Elements A-C previously identified in AZ utilities’ 10-year plans • All elements would involve participation by multiple entities • All elements would facilitate delivery of renewables to market

  3. Sonora-Mohave elements • A—Palo Verde-North Gila • 500-kV, 100 miles • B—Palo Verde-Blythe • 500-kV, 110 miles • C—South of Parker • Potential double circuit, 230/500-kV, 330 miles

  4. Sonora-Mohave elements • C—North of Parker • Potential double circuit, 230/500-kV, • 135 miles • D−Imperial Valley • Potential 500-kV network addition to the Southern California grid in Imperial County, California
