  1. 12 October, 1492 Dear Skippy, It has been about three months. I sailed on the Santa Maria ship. My captain is Christopher Columbus. It was unbelievable when we reached land. Guanahani was a big forest. There were people there, and some didn’t even have clothes, and they didn’t talk. I have traded things with them like glass beads and hawk bells, and they trade things like spears. Well, it has been a long voyage, but I think it was worth it. From, Zach
