Stockton Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Presentation to School Board

Presented by Kendra Bridges from Alta Planning + Design on October 17, 2017, this presentation highlights recommendations to improve safety at 64 schools in Stockton through engineering, education, encouragement, enforcement, and evaluation strategies. The process involved field reviews, outreach to students and staff, and collaboration with various partners to prioritize projects based on criteria like equity, mode shift, safety, health, and cost effectiveness. Recommendation examples include high-visibility crosswalks, bike lanes, and traffic circles. The School Board's support is crucial for seeking future funding without financial commitment from the District.
