MEASURES TAKEN TO IMPROVE SOIL HEALTH • Promotion of Green Manuring. • Promotion of Summer Moong. • Banning the cultivation of summer Paddy by enacting Legislation. • Management of Crop Residues (Use of Rotavator, Zero Till Machine, Happy Seeder etc.) • Reclamation of Saline and Waterlogged Soils by laying Sub Surface Drainage system. • Balanced use of fertilizers as per recommendations. • Promotion of Bio fertilizers and Single Super Phosphate fertilizer. • Identified critical villages for all the micronutrients. • Subsidy @ 75% on micronutrients (Zn, Fe & Mn) are provided to the farmers. Demonstrations are being laid under the NPMSHF and ATMA schemes. • Gypsum is being provided to reclaim Alkali Soils as well as to mitigate sulphur deficiency at 50% subsidized rate.
IMPROVEMENT IN SOIL HEALTH CARD • Area and crop specific recommendation of fertilizers. • Inclusion of Copper, Boron and Molybdenum. • Categorization of Sulphur and Micronutrients with Low, Medium and High Categories as per recommendation of IISS, Bhopal.
