Evidence from this meeting • Bi- and multi-lateral agencies taking up G&E • National Governments & Utilities, REAs taking up G&E • Cleaning cooking is back on the agenda • Many innovative ideas and approaches on how to do it:- Village Gender Focal Points (AFREA)- Women Energy Auditors (SEWA/SELCO)- Gender Goals (ENERGIA/UT)- Engaging Gas & Oil Sector (NORAD)- Utilities & Government Agencies (EG KPLC) Energia Workshop: Bridging the Gender Gap

Bridging the gap • Not everyone is convinced that there is a gender dimension to the energy sector • Make the gaps more visible – this needs to be evidence based • The capacity gap – knowledge, skills and budget/access to finance beyond micro-credit • Scaling-up: Requires partnerships for synergy Energia Workshop: Bridging the Gender Gap
