  16. IMF Trims Outlook for Global Economy • The International Monetary Fund (IMF) reduced 2013 global growth forecast from 3.5% in January to 3.3% in April. Reasons given: • U.S. Government spending cuts, and • A sluggish economy in the Eurozone. • January, IMF projected Eurozone’s economy to contract 0.2%, but now forecast to shrink 0.3%. • IMF called global recovery a "two-speed recovery.” • IMF now calls it a “three-speed recovery.” • U.S. growth outlook downgraded to 1.9% from 2%. Reason given: • $85 billion in federal spending cuts started in March.
