  6. SHELL AHP RADIO PROCEDURES STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES Proper radio courtesy and standard military radiotelephone procedures (ref: FM 24-19) will be used at all times. The approved phonetic alphabet ( ref: FM 24-19) will be used for all radio communications. Any disagreements with ATC or other aircraft shall not be conducted over the radio. All aircraft will monitor guard frequencies 243.0 and 121.5, if equipped, in addition to those frequencies required for air-to-ground communications Aircrews will monitor appropriate air-to-air frequency during all phases of operation.

  7. SHELL AHP RADIO PROCEDURES RADIO CHECK PROCEDURES FM radio checks will be checked on the current basefield ramp FM frequency. i.e.: Requesting station: “Any station, This is Headhunter 70 (sev-en ze-ro) Radio check FM (Fox Mike), over” Responding station: “Headhunter 70 (sev-en ze-ro) this is Saber 69 (six nin-er) I read you Loud and Clear on FM (Fox Mike), over” Requesting station: “This is Headhunter 70 (sev-en ze-ro), roger, out.” Note: The responding station may reply with Loud and Clear, OUT (or Roger, Out). In this case there is no response required or expected from the requesting station.

  8. SHELL AHP RADIO PROCEDURES RADIO CHECK PROCEDURES VHF radio checks will be checked on the current internal VHF frequency. i.e.: Requesting station: “Any station, This is Viper 18 (wun ait) Radio check VHF (VICTOR), over” Responding station: “Viper 18 (wun ait) this is Saber 24 (too fow-er) I read you Loud and Clear on VHF (Victor), over” Requesting station: “This is Viper 18 (wun ait), roger, out.” Note: The responding station may reply with Loud and Clear, OUT (or Roger, Out). In this case there is no response required or expected from the requesting station.

  9. SHELL AHP RADIO PROCEDURES RADIO CHECK PROCEDURES UHF radio checks will be checked on the current basefield ground UHF frequency. The check can be performed by requesting the current environmental conditions. i.e.: Requesting station: “Shell Ground, This is Headhunter 53 (Fife Tree) Request winds and Altimeter setting. over” Shell Ground: “Headhunter 53 (Fife Tree) this is Shell Ground The winds are 230° (Too Tree Ze-ro degrees) at 15 (wun fife) knots and the Cairns altimeter setting is 29.92 (too nin-er nin-er too). over” Requesting station: “This is Headhunter 53 (Fife Tree), roger, out.”
