    1. Better Together with Windows 7

    2. Launching Oct. 22nd Windows 7 Windows Server 2008 R2* Windows Server Foundation 2008 R2

    4. Windows Server Product Family The Home Server is really targeted at consumers, while Foundation, SBS,EBS and our Server family are addressing the commercial segment. The fast growing Ultra Low End Server hardware category had our OEM partners demanding an offering to specifically meet this segment. Providing a platform of choice for customers , delivering very specific value to each of the segments through our general purpose servers or our integrated solutions. NOTE: For Product Showcase I recommend the following: Home Server - Display both an Acer and HP Home Server (no screen…lights on) SBS/EBS - Display 3 1U rack servers (sitting on top of each other) with a screen and a logo splash screen Windows Server - If possible a server rack to signify a data center setup The Home Server is really targeted at consumers, while Foundation, SBS,EBS and our Server family are addressing the commercial segment. 21. RDS – Flexible Virtualization Platform for Remote Desktop and App Deployments Time: 3-4 min Key Message: This slide provides an overview of how RDS provides a flexible virtualization platform for remote desktop and application deployments Why should the audience care? Audience can understand the capability of RDS to support various desktop deployment options Additional notes: Windows Server 2008 R2 embraces VDI technology, which extends the functionality of RDS to deliver a complete business desktop to employees’ remote PC’s and other access devices. The new Remote Desktop Connection Broker, which extends the Session Broker capabilities already found in Windows Server 2008, makes it easier for administrators to deliver remote resources (desktop, applications) to end user devices. If your organization includes structured task workers, such as call center and retail branch employees, you can provide access to a session-based desktop deployed on the server through Remote Desktop Session Hosts. This type of deployment allows access to standard applications in a cost-effective manner and enables users to access LOB applications even from their legacy systems. The Remote Desktop Connection Broker supports four key deployment scenarios : Session-based Remote Desktops Session-based Remote Applications (RemoteApp) VM-based, Personal (permanent) Virtual Desktops VM-based, Pooled (non-permanent) Virtual Desktops In the case of VM-based desktops, the out-of-the-box solution supports the storage of virtual client images on a Hyper-V host server. Hyper-V is the foundation of Microsoft server and desktop virtualization solutions and is installed as a role on Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
