  5. Fairfax County Parkway–Phases I and II Current Status • Awarded contract in September 2008. • Started construction in April 2009. • Open the Fairfax County Parkway in September 2010. • Project complete by the end of 2010.

  9. Fairfax County Parkway -Phase III Proposed Design Concept – Benefits Improved traffic operations at redesigned intersection. Separation of local traffic on Hooes Road from ramp traffic. Shorter, lower bridge over Parkway, located farther away from homeowners. Eliminated clearing of trees for SWM Pond #2. Expanded length of sound walls.

Belvoir North Area – DAR Ramps I-95 South Ramp • Bid Option 2 in Phase I and II design-build contract. • Interchange Modification Report approved by VDOT and FHWA in April 2010. • Completion by end of 2010. I-95 HOV Ramp • Design-Bid-Build Project • Interchange Justification Report approved by VDOT in July; FHWA approval pending. • Advertisement of construction contract in early 2011. • Completion in 2012.

Mulligan Road Project – Phase I • Clearing, grading, drainage, and base course for the full 4-lane section of Mulligan Road • Shared use path from Pole Road to Telegraph Road. • Bridges over Kingman Road and Piney Run. • Construction of Phase I is underway and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2010. • Mulligan Road will not be opened to traffic after completion of this phase.

  14. Mulligan Road – Phase I Construction Progress • Grading of Mulligan Road nearing completion • Kingman Road Bridge – Sidewalk and Bridge Rail work remains • Piney Run Bridge – Girders have been placed; deck pours in August

Mulligan Road Project – Phase II • Realignment of the intersection of Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, Old Mill Road, and Richmond Highway (US Route 1). • Widen Old Mill Road from 2-lanes to 4-lanes between US Route 1 and Pole Road. • Construct paving, bridge, and curb work on Mulligan Road from Pole Road to Telegraph Road. • Widen Telegraph Road from 2-lanes to 4-lanes between Beulah Street and Leaf Road including the Piney Run Bridge. • Mitigation work associated with the Woodlawn property (National Trust for Historic Preservation).

  16. Mulligan Road – Phase IICurrent Status • Final Design Review in August 2010. • Right-of-Way Acquisition in Process. • Advertisement of Construction Contract in Jan 2011. • Award of Construction Contract in April 2011.
