  12. Photosynthesis: • Autotrophs vs. Heterotrophs • Calvin cycle • Light reactions • Chloroplasts/Chlorophyll • C3 plants and C4 plants • Electron flow (linear and cyclic)

  13. Cell communication: • Local vs. long distance signaling • Signal transduction pathway

  14. Cell cycle: • Organization of Genetic material • Mitosis and cytokinesis • Binary fission • Cancer

  15. Sexual life cycle: • Meiosis • Alternation of generations • Comparison of meiosis and mitosis

  16. Genetics: • Gregor Mendel and his genetic laws • Punnett squares • Genetic vocabulary • Probability math rules • Extending Mendel’s Genetics for inheritance patterns • Pedigrees

  17. Chromosomal inheritance: • T.H. Morgan • Sex-linked genes • Genetic recombination and linkage • Abnormal chromosome number

  18. Your best topics… • Briefly summarize each of your 5 strongest topics now on your paper.

  19. Your “not best” topics… • Find one person in the room that has your “least” as their “best” and have them briefly review the concept with you. Do this with each of your 5 topics. Try to find 5 different people. • Do not explain it on paper… just write the name of the person who explained it to you next to the topic. (and if no one can explain it, use your book! List your book!)

  20. Summation… • How do you now feel about your “least” topics? Can you move any out of this category? (Do not answer these two questions on your paper… just think about them) Lastly, answer these two questions: (write out the question) • What do you hope to do better this semester? • What do you plan to do similar this semester?
