  1. Louisiana State PoliceColonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent Video Poker Central System Presentation February 6, 2014

  2. All machines currently communicate on the Gtech central system with a proprietary protocol originally developed by IGT, known as ICIS. IGT licensed the use of the ICIS protocol for the current system with the specification that it would not renew the license beyond 2015. The Division is currently working with Gtech to implement a new protocol for the current central system (called SAS - Slot Accounting System) .

  3. BENEFITS OF THE SAS PROTOCOL? SAS Protocol is the number 1 protocol in the world. (800,000 machines alone in North America) It will fully support the needs of our jurisdiction. The SAS protocol was recommended to the Division by Gtech, Gaming Laboratories International and the Gaming Standards Association. (leading industry representatives) The Division anticipates an increase in machine manufacturers with programming experience in SAS. (recently we have added 6 new machine manufacturers to the market.)

  4. New VSC software (Build 25) delivered January 15. Two versions of VSC software. (Debug and Standard) Currently running 24 site controllers on SAS. Running 137 ICIS and 127 SAS machines. Ethernet (future of communications). Anticipated phone line and fiber problems. Will be polling all locations next week. Where are we at with SAS?

  5. GLI to conduct final test of system. • Currently scheduled for February 17-21 • Finalize Implementation plan – Go Live (Alpha – Beta – Live) • Several vendors developing new software. • Extension of current central system. • Welcome to the newly arrived vendors.

  6. Currently 35.96 (43.65% Sept 2012) of up and running machines are not capable of upgrading to a new Protocol.
