  11. METHAMPHETAMINE • A National problem and serious threat in waiting? • On 18th January 2007 the Home Office, acting on the advice of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, reclassified Methamphetamine from Class B to a Class A drug

Manufacture is ‘simple’;-it can be carried out in a domestic kitchen; it requires no sophisticated equipment; is highly dangerous through risk of explosion/fire and waste is environmentally toxic. The precursors (ephedrine, pseudo ephedrine, red phosphorus and iodine) are readily available along with instructions on their use.
