  3. I do a lot of dispersion modeling and permitting for all kinds of different facilities including: • Food services • Power plants • Oil refineries • Other manufacturing facilities

  4. What made you want to work in the private sector rather than a government job like the National Weather Service?

  5. Liked the idea of regular hours rather than shift work • NWS is ultra competitive • Private sector has many more opportunities

  6. How has being a member of AMS aided you on your path to becoming a meteorologist?

  7. Being active in AMS was very important.   • Potential employers look highly on the activities you are involved in • AMS offers a wide variety of leadership opportunities.   • AMS is a great opportunity to get involved • Also, it was a lot of fun!!

  8. Any other words of wisdom for aspiring meteorologists?

  9. “There are many careers besides the national weather for meteorologists.  Many different types of meteorology related jobs exist.  However, networking is key for many of these jobs."
