Anger • Feel you have been mistreated • Violence is NOT the answer • Channel it into something positive • If anger is not handled it turns to Rage
Handling Anger • Take time to cool down • Physical Activity • Soft music or sit quietly • Identify the cause • Attack the problem, not the person • Brainstorm • Did you take it too personally? • Explain your feelings • Imagine other person’s point of view • Talk situation out
Bullying/Teasing • Can be any age • Boys or Girls • Physical, M/E, and Social • Comments or gestures • Walk Away • Talk to trusted adult • Teachers are here to help
Group Pressure • Can turn small conflicts into big ones • Much like peer pressure • May feel the need to prolong the conflict • Prejudice- is a negative and unjustly formed opinion, usually against people of a different racial, religious, or cultural groups
Alcohol or Other Drugs • 35% of victims of violent crimes say offender had been drinking • People under the influence don’t think clearly • Unreasonable judgments • More susceptible to group pressure • Lose ability to control self • Avoiding these situations would be best option
