  6. Wireless Access Point • Bridges between wireless and wired segments to minimize traffic • Frequency selection • Authentication & Encryption • Built-in radio & antenna(s) or slots for PC Cards

  7. Konfigurasi Access Point • Set password dari access point • Set SSID dan channel • Set enkripsi dan autentikasi • Set IP, subnetmask dan gateway access point

  8. Konfigurasi Access Point • Buka web browser, masukkan ip default dari access point, http://192.168.0.50 • Masukkan username : admin dan passwordnya

  9. Akan nampak layar berikut, klik wizard dan Home :

  10. Masukkan password dari access point

  11. SSID : Service Set IDentifier Masukkan SSID dan channel yang digunakan. SSID adalah nama jaringan wireless anda, channel adalah nomor kanal yang digunakan.

  12. WEP : Wired Equivalent Privacy Default : disabled Masukkan enkripsinya, 64,128,256 bit Masukkan WEP Mode Hexa (0-9,A-F) ASCII (127bit) Masukkan pula Key1-4

  13. Konfigurasi Wireless : AP Name : Nama dari Access Point SSID : Nama dari jaringan wireless Channel : masukkan angka dari 1-12, default : 6 Access point dan client adapter harus menggunakan channel yang sama

Otorisasi : Open System, Shared Key, WPA, WPA-PSK • Open System : tidak menggunakan kunci enkripsi • Shared Key • WPA (Wireless Protected Access) : menggunakan kunci enkripsi yg berubah secara reguler, digunakan bersama RADIUS server • WPA-PSK (WPA-Pre Shared Key): WPA untuk home user, tanpa RADIUS server, kunci enkripsi hanya dibangkitkan pertama kali user terkonek ke jaringan.

  15. WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) : mencegah penyadapan, merupakan protokol untuk security WLAN. Default : disabled. Jika enabled, maka client adapter juga harus enabled • WEP Enkripsi : pilih 64,128,256 bit • WEP mode : heksa (0-9, A-F) atau ASCII (0-127) • Key 1-4, masukkan key 1-4 • Klik Apply

  16. LAN, konfigurasi access point anda dengan memberikan Nomor IP, subnetmask dan gateway bila anda memilih Static IP address. Klik Apply

  17. Client Adapters Drivers are supported for all popular operating systems, including Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, Mac OS Version 9.x, and Linux.

  18. Pilih Wireless network

  19. Setelah terkoneksi, client mencari informasi IP dari access point

SSID : nama jaringan wireless • Wireless Mode : infrastruktur atau ad hoc • Data Enkripsi : Disabled atau Enabled (WEP keys) • Authentikasi : Open, Shared,WPA,WPA-PSK You can specify the authentication mode for the wireless network. The default setting is set to Open Authentication. • Key Length : Bila anda memilih shared untuk otentikasi, pilih berapa bit • IEEE802.1x

  21. Konfigurasi Wireless Client • Install driver wireless client yg disediakan • Cobalah melakukan konfigurasi berikut :

  22. Setelah terkoneksi, lakukan konfigurasi terhadap client : • Buka Network Connections pada Control Panel • Perhatikan status, network, durasi, kecepatan, dan kuat sinyal • Klik properties

  23. Perhatikan Wireless adapter yang ada • Cari kolom Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

  24. Bila digunakan DHCP, klik Obtain an IP address automatically • Bila konfigurasi IP dilakukan secara manual, pilih Use the following IP address, masukkan IP address,subnetmask dan gateway • Masukkan DNS secara otomatis bila anda menggunakan DHCP server, bila tidak, masukkan secara manual, dg pilihan use the following DNS server

  25. Available network menunjukkan jaringan wireless mana saja yg bisa digunakan • Preffered Network menunjukkan jaringan mana kita pilih sebagai jaringan
