  2. The following discussion will examine the management structure which will govern all phases of the DVA-1 project.Involvement of the NRAO in the DVA-1 project is contingent upon a signed Letter of Intent US SKA Consortium Meeting - DVA-1 Project Management Proposal

  3. Project Structure • Serial approach in three phases • Each previous phase must be completed before moving to the next phase • Resources for the next phase must be identified and confirmed prior to embarkment US SKA Consortium Meeting - DVA-1 Project Management Proposal

Project Structure • Phase I • Establish antenna properties and specifications • Outline a viable program to manufacture/procure the antenna and install it at the test site • Establish a notional testing program • Complete a Conceptual Design Review US SKA Consortium Meeting - DVA-1 Project Management Proposal

Project Structure • Phase II • Complete the detailed design and cost analysis for the prototype antenna, including the pedestal • Specify and determine the cost of the test receiver, back end electronics, and computer systems • Determine the scope and cost of the necessary software • Refine the testing program introduced in Phase I • Establish the personal loading for all work elements (scope and budget) • Complete an External Design Review US SKA Consortium Meeting - DVA-1 Project Management Proposal

  6. Project Structure • Phase III • Develop/Manufacture/Procure antenna and all supporting equipment and software • Install antenna at NRAO’s EVLA test site • Complete agreed-to test program, deliver summary to stakeholders US SKA Consortium Meeting - DVA-1 Project Management Proposal

Project Schedule • Three year effort • Starting with the signed Letter of Intent (LOI), phases will be completed in 1 year each • Schedule delays which result in exceeding the three year total for the project will require agreement of the LOI parties US SKA Consortium Meeting - DVA-1 Project Management Proposal
