Power Consumption Test Environment • Test environment OTA – over the air • Equipment: Digital oscilloscope, current probes, 802.11a/b/g access point, draft 802.11n access point, crystal detectors • Digital oscilloscope is used to measure all power consumption states • Tests are performed at 3.3V and 250C for all wireless bands • Legacy data rates are 54Mbps for OFDM, 11Mbps for CCK, and MCS15 for HT OFDM • The average power consumption is measured over a 60 second period, unless noted otherwise • AP configuration: DTIM = 3 and beacon interval = 100mS. For WoWLAN tests, the DTIM = 5 • Margin of error: Tx and Rx states ≈ 3%, low power states ≈ 10%
