  1. Barnstable Junior Classical League Salvete omnes!

  2. AGENDA Latin for “these things must be done” *Election of officers *Recap of 2006-2007 events *Upcoming events for 2007-2008

  3. BJCL leaders: President -present for/runs all meetings -attends all JCL events -works to connect with other area schools -attends quarterly Mass JCL state officer meetings when possible

  4. Vice President -assists President at all meetings -attends all JCL events -specifically in charge of SPIRIT competitions at state convention

  5. Historian -documents all chapter events with photos and video -creates chapter scrapbook to fit with NJCL motto: non nobis solum nati sumus “we are not born for ourselves alone”

  6. Secretary -records all minutes at meetings -works with Historian to create chapter scrapbook

  7. Webmaster -creates Barnstable chapter website -updates chapter website with materials supplied by Historian

  8. Want to run? Just sign up on forms at stage Ballots will be available in Rm 1322 all day and after school tomorrow Results announced Monday in classes

  9. 2006-2007 Events -Classics Day at BU award for “Best Henchman” in skit -Convention 2007 BHS hosted 400 in attendance 6th place award overall

  10. National Convention -held in Knoxville, TN in early August -60 Mass. delegates total 4 from BHS -full week of activities -almost 2,000 in attendance

  11. Upcoming Events May 9-11 State Convention at BHS Holiday Inn Gladiator Workshop March Semi-formal dance in Boston Dec 7 Classics Day at BU Friday—miss school

  12. In the works:Cape Cod Catapult Day all Cape schools with Latin programs invited to -enter student-designed catapults -participate in certamen scrimmages October or November

  13. In the works:Social events & Charity ideas: paintball trip to play or opera bowling holiday party end of year banquet help in Astropark

  14. Next meeting Newly-elected officers to meet in 2 weeks next BJCL meeting in one month
