  3. PUBLISHED CALLS • First call • - published on 25th June 2009 • - deadline 17th July 2009 • - 10 EoI received • Second call – extension • - published on 23rd July • - deadline 21st august • - 6 EoI received 2009-2011

  4. APPOINTEMENT OF MEMBERS • PAC members appointed by the EC, • (supported by PAC Secretariat) • Criteria: • (i) General criteria of • representativeness: • - city typology and geographical position • - CIVITAS experience • - gender balance • (ii) Proven record of the individual candidates • -proactive role in promoting policies, in line with the CIVITAS objectives 2009-2011

  5. ACTIVITIES • Appointment Letters sent • Acceptance of invitation from all members received • Short bios and pictures for web update partially received • CIVITAS Award letter sent to all PAC members • Votes partially provided within given deadline 2009-2011

  6. PAC BALANCE • Good geographical balance among all 16 new members: “Old” EU Member State Cities: Aalborg; Burgos; Nantes; Funchal; Preston/Lancashire; Porto; Athens; Winchester; Gent; Graz; “New” EU Member State Cities: Szeged; Gorna Oryahovitsa; Kaunas; Ljubljana; and Tallinn EU Accession Country City: Skopje 2009-2011

  7. PAC CONTINUITY • Need for ensuring continuity provided through: - Three members from old PAC - 6 cities from old Pac - Szeged - Kaunas - Nantes - Ljubljana - Lancashire - Graz 2009-2011
