  1. Dragons: Then & Now SUMMARY AND PURPOSE: For Catherine Ryden’s and Paige Snyder’s community service learning project, they met with one of the eldest residents of Brunswick, Bea Douglas. What is unique about her is that she spent her entire life in Brunswick, and now, at 101 years old, she is still leading a healthy life. She drives a car, plays games, takes care of her home that she has owned since 1935, and still remembers the good times she had at Brunswick high School in the 1920’s. After meeting with Bea, they met with Olivia Tetu, a member of the graduating class of 2010. They each spoke about high school, their experiences, and the discrepancies between the generations. After interviewing each woman, Paige and Catherine learned how different high school is now that it was when Bea was young. Also, they learned the importance of hearing stories from the past. Hearing stories from the past enables one to realize the privileges and stresses that they have to deal with more so today than in the latter. Paige Snyder and Catherine Ryden
