My background • BA in English Literature from Davidson College • Masters in Secondary English Education at Kennesaw State University • Second career • From a family of English teachers – my mom taught me AP Lit! • 3 daughters (Dickerson, Walton, Wake Forest University)
9th Grade English 92 • Challenging survey course which will prepare your student for college • Readings include novels, short stories, and various nonfiction pieces • Tests, quizzes, homework, small group work, and discussionseminars • Writing – literary analysis, descriptive, personal narrative, and technical • 8 vocabulary units
Vocabulary studies • Every other week a unit quiz (20 words) • New vocab. books this year with software to download words to your technology device (I phone, I touch, I pad, other?)
