SPRING SOCIAL –MARCH 23rd. • Sarah Williams gave us a fantastic talk entitled “A Life with a Purpose” which left us all dizzy with admiration for all her many achievements and charitable work. • Despite living with Marfan Syndrome for many years she and her guide dog Ozzie are an inspiration to us all. • Money raised on the evening will go to the Ellen McArthur Cancer Charity and the RNIB Sunshine School in Northwood where Sarah taught braille for 7 years.

Committee Membership • Chairman –Neville Brewis • Treasurer –Sue Hazelden • Secretary-Margaret Ruse • Walks Organiser –Don Walter • Ian Hopley • Rosanne Cawardine • Dick Dennett • Pam Porter • John Hollyman • Pat Walter (co-opted) CHANGES FOR 2013-14 Don, Pat and John are standing down. Rosanne and Margaret are taking on the Walks Co-ordinators role. Committee will share the Social Organiser role between the team. And finally …. Welcome to Helen Palmer and Chris Budd !!

  26. Walking Partnership with Ramblers Holidays • In November 2012 the Club joined The Walking Partnership supported by Ramblers Worldwide Holidays. • Benefits to the club include:-payments when members book individual holidays with RH, discounts on Group bookings and (potential) payment for advertising RH in club literature. • So can I encourage anyone booking Ramblers Holidays to let us know as the club gets (small) payments back. • Money is to used to promote Walking !

HF Holiday Activity Club Membership • In April 2013 we joined HF as ACTIVITY CLUB Members and became an HF Shareholder! • Benefits include:-free insurance, payment for advertising HF in Club literature, discounts on group holidays, regular communication of HF Holiday literature and “deals” (see Website for full list) • We now plan to realise these benefits by using HF for future Club Annual holidays using the HF Guided Walks Packages. • If individuals book HF holidays, please can they let us know as the club will get a (small) payment.

  28. Website • Has been running for 3 years now with 8800 “visits” to date . • Consists of a Home Page and now 9 other pages. • A number of new members found us via the Website. • Used to inform members of upcoming events and walking activities(both inside and outside the club), to publish AGM minutes and Newsletters electronically plus to communicate changes to published Walks Programme. • New pages added to show photos of recent walks and events • Photos of walks and activities always welcome. • Visit at www.stokelodgeramblers.wordpress.com

  29. Future Organisation of Club /Committee/Activities • More or less as now –we seem to be in good shape! • New Walks Programme for Jan –June 2014 now being developed. Walks Leaders please volunteer after this AGM ! • Plans for Spring Social(March), Coach Outing(June) and Annual Holiday (October) now well advanced. • David Hayes now running Walks Leaders Workshops for potential new walks leaders. • Ideas for changes and /or new activities always welcome!-particularly non walking/social outings.
