  2. 4 main concepts for this chapter A) The infancy Narratives. Things to know: • What are the infancy narratives/ • In what Gospels do we find the infancy narratives? • What do the authors of the infancy narratives want us to realize about Jesus? (pages 105-113) You should have the questions on 113 already answered in your notebook.

  3. Questions 113 • Define infancy narrative and name the Gospels that contain an infancy Narrative. • List the major intentions of each writer of the infancy narratives. Give an example of how each intention is reflected in the writer’s narrative

  4. 2nd concept: The hidden years of Jesus’ life. • Just what ARE the “hidden years” of Jesus? • Why must we be careful about the images we have of Jesus during his early life and hidden years? • What were some influences that would effect Jesus as he grew up? • How would you describe Jesus at 15 years of age? ( pages 114-117,review questions on 117 should be in your notebook)

  5. 3rd concept: The beginnings of Jesus’ Public Life. Things to Know: • What are some important symbols from Jesus’ baptism? • What did Jesus understand about himself at this baptism? • What “powers” did Jesus reject in the desert temptations? • What kind of Messiah will Jesus be? ( pages 118-123, answers to the questions on123 should be written in your notebook)

  6. 4th concept: Wandering Preacher, Unique Teacher. • How was Jesus LIKE the rabbis of his day? • How was Jesus Unlike the rabbis of his day? • What was Jesus’ special message and how did he proclaim it? • What was Jesus’ special role? • What was Jesus’ relationship with his disciples? • What connection can be made between the twelve apostles and the early history of the Jews? • ( pages 123-127,answer questions on 127 in your notebooks)
