  2. APA or MLA? • What’s the difference? • Be consistent!!! • If you cite APA style, reference page should be in APA format • No reference page I assume APA

  3. In-Text Citations… Direct Quotes • APA: • “Perception is the process by which we notice and make sense of experience and stimuli around us” (Wood, 2001, p.39). • MLA: • “Perception is the process by which we notice and make sense of experience and stimuli around us” (Wood 39).

  7. Tense • When I was young I had many traumatic events. An example of this is when my parents punished me, they didn’t care that I am upset. They tell me to stop crying.

  8. Things to avoid… • “So in conclusion…” • Talk writing (like, so, then, and) • Generalities (You, we, etc…) • Sweeping statements • Racial/ethnic group slurs • Slang use • Illegal activity
