  1. VOLUME OF A SPHERE By: Ronnie Ellis

  2. What is a sphere • The shape is presented below For those who don’t know what a sphere is, excluding the fact that you are in eighth grade, is a 3 dimensional shape like your average everyday baseball.

  3. Finding the volume • The formula for this is: To find the volume of the shape you need to know a few things before doing this exercise. You need to know: The number pi (3.14) The radius of the sphere (distance from the edge to the centre) How to multiply.

  4. Example 1. 4/3 * pi * r(cubed) 3. 4/3 * 3.14 * 64 2. 4/3 * 3.14 * 4(cubed) 4. 4/3 * 200.96 V=267.95 4 ft

  5. First write down the formula needed: 1. 4/3 * pi * r(cubed) 4 ft

  6. Then plug in the information: 2. 4/3 * 3.14 * 4(cubed) (pi is always 3.14, unless the problem(s) require you to round to the nearest whole) 4 ft

  7. **EXPONENTS FIRST** 3. 4/3 * 3.14 * 64 4 ft

  8. **MULTIPLY** 4. 4/3 * 200.96 (Due to the laws of PEMDAS you can multiply in any order) 4 ft

  9. Multiply by 4/3 and you should have your solution to the problem V=267.95 4 ft
