SC4 College Night October 28, 2014 • Date: Tuesday, Oct. 28 • Time: 6:30 to 8 p.m. • Place: SC4, Citizens First Michigan Technical Education Center on the college's Port Huron campus • Reps from more than 50 institutions will be available at College Night from to discuss programs of study, financial aid, admissions requirements and other areas of interest to college-bound students. All high school juniors, seniors and their parents are invited.

College Applications • Register for Parchment Electronic transcript request system (most registered last year) • If you haven’t registered, the link is available on the counseling website • Complete on-line college applications • Use Parchment to request transcript be sent • Link available on the counseling website • Be sure your ACT scores have been sent directly to the college • If you need additional score reports, go to www.actstudent.org for forms

Scholarships • -Visit the RHS Counseling Website—Click on “Scholarship Information” • Use the top links for personalized scholarship searches • Read through the chart to identify scholarships for which you qualify • -If you know which college you will be attending, visit the college website for information on its scholarships

  8. Skilled Trade Apprenticeships • Requirements vary—applicants must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or GED. Often, you must pass a math/mechanical aptitude test. • What you will earn depends on your individual circumstances • Average Journeyman Rate of the 16 Trades in Michigan • $22.00 per hour - Base Rate @ 45% -- $ 9.90 - Per Hour • Your training is part of your apprenticeship, so unlike someone who has gone to a two or four year college program, you won’t have a college loan to pay-off with your income. • Visit the RHS counseling website: Click on Apprenticeship Information
