  2. Setting • District 12 (also known as Seam) is usually crawling with coal miners heading out to the morning shift. The story would be different if the setting wasn’t here because there wouldn’t be any where for men and woman to work at.

  3. Characters

  4. Conflict It is man vs man because in the Hunger Games they have to fight for there lives. Only one person can survive. Katniss is so scared to die.

  5. Summary of Plot • Prim gets picked to go to reaping. Katniss volunteers for her. Peeta and Katniss have to go to certain training. They fight for there lives at the Hunger Games. Who will survive?

  6. Theme • Always be strong, and never give up. • Text Evidence 1: I kept telling myself if I could only hold until May 8th. • Text Evidence 2: Does someone start it at quitting time. • Text Evidence 3: But you wont be alone.

  7. Point of View • First person point of view because Katniss is telling the story. This helps me understand better s It would be different if the author chose another point of view by not describing exactly how she felt through out the story.

  8. Symbolism • The pin is a symbol that was given to Katniss by the mayor’s daughter to remind her of home. That pin becomes very important and special for her.

  9. Recommendation • I recommend this book because it is very interesting. The author describes the characters very good. I think the best thing about this book is that it gives a lot of details about what is happening.
