  2. Avoiding Crashes • Premiere Elements crashes ALL THE TIME • Save often • Have all other programs closed • Check for updates • Help>Updates

Matching Video to Audio • Pull audio clip from Task pane into Audio 1 in timeline • Decide duration of first clip • Leave scrubber line where clip should end • Select first video clip; double click • Set In and Out points • Pull video clip into Video 1 • Fine-tune Out point with a left click and drag

  6. Still Images Pull into Video 1 timeline just as you would a video clip 5 seconds is default; drag end of clip to adjust time Add effects (pan or zoom horizontal, pan or zoom vertical) to keep image from growing too static Edit>Effects>Presets Choose Effect

  7. Time Stretch • If your clip isn’t quite long enough • Right-click clip>Time Stretch • Choose a number under 100% • Don’t go crazy • More options: Reverse speed, Maintain audio pitch

  8. Adding Transitions • Go from Timeline to Sceneline view • Only reason to use Sceneline view • Right-click the small box between the clips • Choose your transition • Simple dissolve is effective • Be consistent with transitions
