  10. PRODUCT OVERVIEW Telkom’s Ethernet Express is a point to point layer 2 Ethernet service providing bandwidth options of 2-600Mbps An example of Ethernet Express Customer Domain Telkom Domain Telkom Domain Customer Domain COS CPE TCE TCE CPE Fibre Metro Ethernet VLL Fibre 7x50 Node 7x50 Node Overview • Telkom’s Ethernet Express is a point to point (P2P) layer 2 (L2) Ethernet service providing bandwidth options of 2-600Mbps on Quality of Service (QoS) enabled shared infrastructure Source: Telkom

  11. PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS AND BENEFITS Main benefits related to the EE product are bandwidth flexibility, service reliability and nation-wide availability Description Benefits • Hosted on the Metro Ethernet (ME) network via Optic fibre • Both regional and national connectivity • L2 Virtual leased Line (VLL) connectivity • Bandwidth ranging from 2Mbps to 600Mbps • 1Mbps increments from 2Mbps to 124Mbps • 5Mbps increments from 125Mbps to 600Mbps • Available in 240 ME enabled exchanges • Redundancy options General • ME meshed network providing redundancy in the core • Single virtual connection or Layer 2 VLL between sites to differentiate traffic from other customer’s traffic • Transparent connectivity between the customer’s end-points and privacy and security of data • Higher bandwidth options from 2Mbps up to 600Mbps per TCE and up to 100Mbps for Real Time Technical • Service delivered on the TCE GigE port • The TCE (7210 SAS-E) is supplied with electrical (RJ45) and optical interfaces • Offers 3 different Classes Of Service: Real Time (130Mbps max.), Business Data, General Data/Best Effort • Bandwidth upgrades and downgrades only require software configuration changes • Bandwidth upgrades possible on same equipment up to 600Mbps per TCE - cost effective • QoS enabled service Access Technology • Standard service is offered on Fibre access • Microwave access if there are obstacles for fibre or customer specifically want MW • No EDD service when a customer is co-located at an ME enable exchange or at a Teraco site (150m between ME node and customer equipment) • < 5km standard price and > feasibility • Limitation of 140Mb service . • Customer equipment should be ≤ 150m from ME node

  12. ETHERNET EXPRESS COS AND QOS Three CoS are available for Ethernet Express product Ethernet express - 3 classes of service • The right Class for right application, if unsure Business Data is recommended • Real Time is optimised for low latency and low jitter (at the expense of throughput guarantees) • Business Data is optimised for high guarantee of throughput (at the expense of delay and jitter) • General Data has no guarantees Source: Telkom

  13. PRICING STRUCTURE - OVERVIEW Price structure includes an access and a bandwidth component, as well as once-off charges for installation, configuration and interface change Description Access per customer site1 • 1x TCE • Access fibre • 1x Port Bandwidth • Distance - independent Bandwidth to the Telkom ME-enabled exchange • The bandwidth pricing will be flat rated but different rates will apply to links within a region (regional) and between two regions (national) • Available in Business Data, General Data and Real-Time Class of Service Once-off charges • Installation of the TCE (it pays for the labour, not for the capital) • Configuration fee is charged per configuration change per TCE for bandwidth configuration Contract terms • Available in 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 year contract terms 1 Applies to both nodes (Access x 2) Source: Telkom

  17. SIP PoIL via ME 17

  18. Background • There are currently two Point of Interconnect Link (PoIL) options available to Other Licensed Operators (OLO’s) for Interconnection purposes • TDM: • This is the traditional method of utilising a Constant Bit Rate (CBR) technology such as SDH that will support N x E1 connections between the OLO’s switch and the nominated Telkom DPSU.  • These E1 circuits are ordered separately from the Interconnect service and Billing is distance based •  IP • Utilises ATM technology to provide an IP connection between the OLO’s soft switch and Telkom’s soft switch environment. In order to maintain like for like connectivity with the TDM domain, an IP interconnection link is still associated with a nominated Telkom DPSU. • Billing is distance based.

  19. Product Overview • SIP Interconnect via ME is a: • Interconnection service between Telkom and OLOs using the SIP signalling protocol over a Metro Ethernet PoIL provisioned and supported by Telkom • point to point (P2P) layer 2 (L2) Ethernet service providing bandwidth options of 2-100Mbps on Real time (RT) Quality of Service (QoS) enabled shared infrastructure (Metro Ethernet) • Physical and/or logical link between Telkom and OLOs • Bandwidth ranging from 2Mb/s to 100Mb/s (technical limitation for RT) • 1Mbps increments from 2Mbps to 100Mbps • Both regional and national connectivity • Provides L2 Virtual leased Line (VLL) connectivity • Provides interconnection service between Telkom and OLOs
