Purpose and Goals • Purpose To promote goodwill and world understanding through provision of funding in support of approved Humanitarian and Education projects. • Funding Stand alone structure and entirely funded by clubs, corporate giving (Gates) and investment income. • Goal Eradication of Polio through "Polio Plus" program. Boost appetite for "Matching Grants".

  6. Objectives for 2010-2011 Four distinct fundraising/support activities: • Annual giving program – “Every Rotarian, Every Year”. Target $2,000. • Polio Plus eradication challenge – Food/wine night and bike ride. Target $4,000. • DDF Grant and matching grants – Budaka humanitarian project in Uganda. Target $TBD. • GSE Team – Provide team leader and form group to District 1950, Southern Germany

Key Points • Foundation is the top priority over the next 3 years • The last 3 years have been slow due to poor investment performance • Ambitious plan for 10/11 – something for everyone • Chance to take a team to Germany • Fresh outbreak of Polio in Russia in May • Food/wine night 16th September. Target $2,000 for Polio eradication

  8. Key Points /cont. • Trevor Smith led bike ride to 2011 Conference. Target $2,000 for Polio eradication • Three year annual giving program for humanitarian and education projects worldwide. Target $2,000 • Ian Seal Uganda project. Minimum matching DDF Grant is $5,000. Target: TBA • GSE team to District 1950 in May for 6 weeks. Inbound @ Conference. TBA

Priority Programs • NYSF National Youth Science Forum, Canberra, July 2011 – hoping to sponsor 1 student • RYLA Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, December 2010 – hoping to sponsor 2 students • Rotaract Supporting the Rotaract Club of Diamond Valley; sponsoring 3 Rotaractors to attend the 7th Asia Pacific Conference in Sydney, November 2010 • Interact Supporting the Eltham Interact Club • Short term Youth Exchange Between the Rotary Club of Hondo City and Eltham

  11. Secondary/Future Programs • Siemens Science Experience • RYPEN • Eltham High School Interviews • Youth Exchange • Anticipated Budget Range - $5,000 - $7,000 • Keeping Rotarians informed – through regular segment in the Bulletin
