  3. Life Cycle of the Bat • The baby bat is called a pup. The pup stays in the mother’s body for about 40 days. • When the time has come for the pup to come out, the mother hangs upright and has her pup. • When the new pup is born, it cannot fly. It will take about two weeks for it to learn how to hunt and fly. • When the mother bat goes hunting, the pup will cling to the mother and they go out together and learn more. • After about one month, the pup has become an adult. It will soon give birth to another pup. The Life Cycle!

  4. Where does a bat live? Or Most bats live in a cave or in a high, dark place. Some bats live in trees. On some farms, farmers keep bats to help grow healthycrops. That’s because bats help keep bugs away! Bats live all over the world. Scientists haven't discovered bats in the Arctic, but there is a possibility that they may live there . I live in the cave with my best friends.

  5. What does a bat eat? I’m so hungry! Buzz! Buzz Mosquito! Bats eat insects! Most bats eat insects such as mosquitoes. The Fruit Bat eats fruit and nectar. The Flying Fox (bat) can even eat a frog or a fish too. The Vampire bat sucks blood from other insects. They do not suck on human blood.

  6. How does a bat protect itself? How would I ever get out of trouble! Tigers and hawks are just creepy. When a predator tries to attack bats, some play dead or others get into a fight. The probability that the bat will win is only 30%. When a predator comes into the bat’s habitat, they warn each other by using something called echolocation. Bats use echolocation all the time. They use it when they are hunting for food also. Predators

  7. The smallest and the biggest bat! The smallest bat ever found was the bumble bee bat. It was the size of a jellybean. It was found in Thailand. It weighed about 2 grams. The biggest bat ever found was the Giantgolden-crowned flying fox, also known as the Golden-capped Fruit Bat. Giant golden crowned fruit bat

  8. Interesting Facts Did you know that a single little brown bat can eat up to 1000 mosquitoes in one hour? The African Heart-nosed Bat can hear the footsteps of a beetle walking on sand from a distance of more than six feet. Bats clean themselves every day. Bats are very endangered animals. They are dying every day. Scientists call bats Chiro Ptera. Chiro means hands and Ptera means wings in Latin. Bats are one of the worlds most gentle and shy animals.

  9. Photo’s of bats! These are baby Fruit Bats. Aren’t they cute? A newborn Flying Fox. It's drinking milk!
