  8. Fats Examples • Cholesterol- Fatty, waxlike substance that sticks to the walls of blood vessels From grease, fried foods, red meat, eggs and cheeses To lower cholesterol-less red meat (more chicken and fish) less eggs and cheeses, more fruit

  9. Protein Vital part of every cell and muscle Ex. Meat, milk, nuts, dried beans, peanut butter and eggs

  10. Vitamins and Minerals Compounds necessary for growth Ex.-Fruits and vegetables, A, B6, C, D, Zinc…

  11. Water Need six to eight glasses EVERY day (not carbonated) Body weight in half in ounces

  12. Fiber Helps move food through digestive tract, found in wheat and roughage
