  2. Daily Setup Activity • Create a new Permission List -Copy Existing List -Create Unit by Permission List -Create Book by Permission List -Create TableSet by Permission List

  3. Copy Existing Permission List

  4. -Navigate to the Page that you would like component interface to populate (Unit by Permission List)

  5. -Identify the Component by selecting “CTRL + J”. The component name is SEC_BU_CLS.

  6. Access Application Designer: Select File -> New -> Component Interface -> OK

  7. Enter the component name found on the page (SEC_BU_CLS) and choose Select

  8. Select Yes to enable the properties to automatically populate

  9. The component definition showing OPRCLASS and BUSINESS_UNIT

  10. Select File -> Save As – Enter the desired name

  11. The new component name will need to be added to the security for the Permission List that accesses the specific functionality

  12. Select the Component Interfaces tab, then insert a row using the “+”

  13. Enter the new Component Interface name and select the Edit link

  14. Select Full Access (All) then OK

  15. After selecting OK and Save, security will be ready

  16. Locate and open the ExelToCI.xls

  17. The PeopleSoft Excel To CI Utility screen will be displayed

  18. Click on the Connect Information tab and enter the pertinent information. Many fields are case sensitive.

  19. Click on the Template tab and select New Template from the Template Actions menu

  20. Enter the pertinent sign on information and the new component interface name

  21. The component interface will display

  22. Select the input fields by clicking in the cell and clicking Select Input Cell for each field required

  23. Select the New Data Input option to access the data input sheet

  24. Select Yes when prompted by the delete data question

  25. Enter data from Excel sheet into fields,then select Stage Data for Submission. Hints: Always choose “Paste Special – Values” when pasting data from separate excel sheets. Remove all “special” characters (#, *, %, etc.)

  26. After selecting Submit Data, focus will be moved to the Staging & Submission tab. Select the Submit Data option.

  27. Enter User ID & Password, then select OK.

  28. Successful rows will be shaded green with the Status of OK. If a failure occurs, the field will be red and have a description of the problem.

  29. Navigating to the Unit by Permission List page will reveal the newly added rows for the specific Permission List

  30. Complete Daily Setup Activity • Repeat component interface process for remaining two tasks: -Create Book by Permission List -Create TableSet by Permission List

  31. Additional Daily Tasks via CI • Enter AR Deposit Reference Numbers from a file • Setup GL Projects • Define Assets • Relate Assets to Projects • Change Life of Assets (miscellaneous Asset data updates)
