Vehicle categories 1999 2005 2007 Small truck not more than 1ton Add bus not more than 4.5tons Passenger car KNCAP History Application/Scope • KNCAP applied to passenger car from 1999 and then added to bus and • small truck. • KNCAP in the vehicle categories shall be covered 95% of all vehicles . • The distribution of bus not more than 4.5 tons was 87% of all buses. • The distribution of truck not more than 1.0 ton was 72% of all trucks.

KNCAP History Test Items • Test items were expanded gradually. • From 2013, KNCAP is going to perform 9 test items • - Added item “Safety Assistance Systems” 2005 1999 2001 2003 Front Impact Side Impact Roll Over Brake ` Seat Pedestrian Pedestrian Side Pole Impact Front Offset Impact 2007 2007 2008 2010 2009 2013 Safety Assistance System - Safety belt remainder : + 0.3 - LDWS : + 0.3 - FCW : + 0.4

Integrated Overall Rating (2013~) Flow chart of overall rating method • Evaluate three categories: crash / pedestrian / rollover and brake • Every 2 years, update required points for class and minimum required scores for crash and pedestrian protection • Safety assistance systems are applied additional points (+1.0 point) • Side Pole Test still remains in optional Test (+2.0 point) • ★ After Finalized GTR in Pole Side Impact Regulation, Test Protocol will be changed as GTR & shift to a Standard Test Items Pedestrian Protection Rollover & Brake Test Frontal Crash Offset Frontal Side Impact Crash Whiplash Protection Weight Factor Modified Scores Side Pole (+2points) Meet ?
