Work Breakdown Structure • WBS is an essential project management tool for breaking down large complex projects into smaller manageable pieces. • Can be compared with a exploded view of for example a bicycle were the bike is divided into its every piece. Which makes it easier to overview the full scale of the project

Act as base for cost estimations, schedules, budgets and resource requirements • Level of detail is defined by the project manager and the project team and can be different from project to project. • Three main reasons to use WBS in projects - more accurately and specifically define and organize the total scope of the project - help with assigning responsibilities, resource allocation, overseeing the project - allows you double check all the project details with the stakeholders and make sure there is nothing missing or overlapping
