This report summarizes the significant changes made to the FIDEL and LHC models in 2010, focusing on updates that affect magnet measurements and operational parameters. Key modifications include a revised current range adjustment for specific circuits, fine-tuning of RESMAG curves, and a proposal to standardize magnet representation using SSW for three similar magnet families. The adjustments aim to improve measurement consistency and accuracy, addressing discrepancies noted in HALL integral readings. Detailed discussion highlights the unphysical curve behavior at low current measurements and other critical insights.

MQWB saga continues These curves are BL(I) and not TF(I) !First curve shows 0 to 200 A ( I_GEO ) The next curve shows0 to 6 A The fit curve becomesquickly unphysical belowlowest meas point at 1Awhere RESMAG = 16 000 units of TFgeo Therefore I have in 2010modified IRNG_LOW=1 Afor the 2 circuitsoperating in this range, and IRNG_LOW=10 Aotherwise + fine tuningof RESMAG curves
New MBXW S/T measurements show some difference wrt HALL integrals 3 similar magnet families with essentially only different field direction (H/V) and magnetic length: MBXWS lm=0.82, MBXWT lm=1.57, MBXWH lm=3.43 where lm taken from average of measurements.
Measurements of MBXWS 3 with SSW Proposed change • The spread in HALL measurements is often small • and when not small it looks more like 1 of 3 outlier • So why not use the SSW to represent all 3 magnets !
Measurements of MBXWT 2 with SSW Proposed change • Assume spread is due to measurement issues • Use the SSW to represent all 3 magnets ! • The saturation is underestimated in the FIDEL curve
