  1. A.J Hackett By Tait

  2. Childhood • A.J Hackett was born in 1958. He was born and raised in Auckland's North Shore He went to Westlake Boys High School, but he left at the age of 16 to become a carpenter. At this age he had taken up snowboarding and skiing. In 1986 he attempted his first amateur bungy jump of the Auckland bridge. He then met a friend named Henry Van Asch.

  3. The Bungy Hackett was inspired by the Vanuatu ritual called land diving and the oxford club of dangerous sports. Then later in 1987 A.J and Henry planned a jump of the Eifel tower. They did that but it was illegal. Hackett then got arrested by the French police but Hackett considered it as favour for inspiration. Then he started jumping all over the world. He then opened his company, by creating a site at Kawarau Bridge in Queenstown.

  4. Guinness World Records • In 1988 he jumped off the Auckland sky tower claiming the title of the first bungy ever • In 1990 he jumped 380 meters off a helicopter. • In 2000 he jumped off the Royal Gorge Bridge which is the highest bridge in the world • In 2006 he jumped off Macau tower in China which was 233 meters off the ground claiming the highest sky jump record. • In 2007 he jumped off Macau tower again but it was a commercial jump that time. • In 2007 he doubled the previous world record of 700 meters jumping 1499.6 meters in Malaysia with his new bungy that could stretch out to 1 kilometre.

  5. How he changed the world • A.J Hackett has changed the world as we know it. He has bungy sites all over the world. Some people consider him as a god. If it wasn’t for him the world wouldn’t have the bungy. I can not imagine a world without the bungy!
