  3. 1. Hala can rider her bike 7 ½ miles in an hour. How far will she ride in 3 hours? How far will she ride in 2/3 of and hour?

  4. Answer Multiplication; 3 x 7 ½ = 22 ½ miles Multiplication; 2/3 x 7 ½ = 5 miles

  5. 2. Eryn’s pet rabbit eats 5/12 of a pound of food every day. If Eryn buys rabbit food in 5-pound bags, how often does she buy a new bag of rabbit food?

  6. Answer Division; 1 2/3 1/3 = 5 days

  7. Jason practices the trumpet for 1 2/3 hours everyday. He practices the scales every 1/3 of an hour. How many times does he practice the scales?

  8. Answer Division; 1 2/3 1/3 = 5 times

  9. Jonathan can throw a baseball 10 1/3 years. His brother Joey can throw a baseball 13 1/12 yards. How much farther can Joey throw the ball?

  10. Answer Subtraction; 13 1/12 – 10 1/3 = 2 ¾ yards

  11. Kim bought 3/8 of a pound of sunflower seeds and 3/16 of a pound of thistle seed for her bird feeder. How much seed did she buy in all?

  12. Answer Addition; 3/8 + 3/16 = 9/16 pound

  13. Casandra’s fish bowl holds 9/10 of water. It is now 2/3 full. How much water does it have?

  14. Answer Multiplication; 2/3 x 9/10 = 3/5 gallon

  15. Estimate Marcus plays basketball for 9 hours each week. His friend Luis spends 5/6 as much time playing basketball. Who plays more basketball?
