  2. Cryolab test stand CORA • Modifications and changes • Future tests • SR1 2 kW unit • Modular units • 100 W units TRACI • Two units commissioned • New TRACI for Uni Geneva • 1kW unit MARCO J.Godlewski

  3. Cryolab • New compressor installed • Connection to condenser and fridge piping to be done • Changes to electrical supply and control system on the way • CMS long pipes installed on the wall • Pressure test done • Leak tests on the way • DAQ ready • IBL transfer line • Tests of the IBL transfer line will be done in parallel to CMS tests J.Godlewski

  10. TRACI commissioning J.Godlewski

  11. 100 W - development Currently we are preparing the construction of the next TRACI unit for Geneva University. Modifications to 3D-model have been done and manufacturing drawings produced. Now we will start ordering the material. It was agreed that Geneva University will do Electrical and Control cabinets basing on delivered drawings and ordered by us materials. It is also discussed the possibility of building another unit and use it for all development needs J.Godlewski

  12. (Multipurpose Apparatus for Research on CO2 - MARCO MARCO is a CO2 cooling unit based on the 2PACL concept developed for the LHCb-Velo. The capacity of MARCO is in the order of 1kW and the operational temperature range will be from room temperature down to -40°C. MARCO is designed for non-expert users, all the necessary handling is controlled by a PLC. MARCO is designed to support CO2 cooling development in general. The design of MARCO servers as a base for future CO2 cooling plants for experiments. The CO2 cooling for Atlas-IBL and KEKb-Belle 2 will be derived from the Marco design. The common design approach is named IBBeLle cooling plant as both IBL and Belle-2 have the same requirements. This unit is built in collaboration with Max Planck Institute from Munich. Currently frame is ready and MPI is preparing piping. For the chiller we have got 25kCHF from ATLAS R&D budget and chiller with 2 stage, frequency controlled compressor is being ordered just now J.Godlewski

  14. MARCO control system J.Godlewski

  15. Summary • A lot of activities during this year • Tests of the full scale CMS piping will start soon in the Cryolab • SR1 2 kW unit is under commissioning • Two TRACI 100 W units have been constructed and commissioned • LHCb one is at the beam test stand • ATLAS IBL is being installed in SR1 • 1 kW MARCO unit is built in collaboration with MPI Munich • Krakow students participate in CO2 activities There are 4 different share spaces for CO2 cooling systems. Maybe we should put them in one space and make more information in public area to allow people for access J.Godlewski
