  2. Subjective History • Age • Occupation – manual workers • Site – upper buttock, groin, lat side of hip • Spread – L3 • Onset • Duration • Symptoms – clicking, giving way, stiffness, p+ns

  3. Observation • Face • Hip – wasting, swelling, deformity, leg length • Posture • Gait - Trendelenburg

  4. Exclude the lsp and SIJ • 1)lsp – posture, ext with hip flex, flex and SF supine • 2)SIJ – 4 test and compression

  5. Hip Examination Supine 3)Passive tests – flexion, LR, MR, abd, add 4)resisted tests – flexion, abd, add, ext Prone 5) Passive tests – ext, MR 6) Resisted tests – MR, LR, knee flex and ext
