  9. sPHENIX Configuration ManagementGuidelines and Procedures • Configuration Management Doc. # sP-SE.QAM.003 (Rev A (final draft)) • Derives from SBMS • Uses C-A OPM 13.6.2 “Configuration Management” (flow down from SBMS) (facilities, line electric, A-1 systems and safety systems) • sPHENIX (experimental equipment not covered above) • Changes to C-A managed facilities and equipment processed through C-A: “ECN’s” • Changes to sPHENIX experimental equipment processed through sPHENIX and reviewed by C-A Experimental Safety Review Committee (ESRC) (Note: ESRC review of new experimental equipment prior to installation and prior to operation also required): “ECR’s” • Prior to Baseline, changes to subsystems are evaluated by L2 subsystem, L2 manager. Any changes affecting performance, envelope/outline/interface must be reviewed and approved by sPHENIX management. Minor changes may be approved by the L2 or his designee. • After Baseline all changes to subsystems must be submitted for review and approval in accordance with sP-SE.QAM.003 requirements. • Documentation Control, Doc. # sP-SE.QAM.002 (Rev A (final draft)) • Originals controlled by originating group (C-A and SMD use “WINDCHILL”, sPHENIX uses “VAULT”) • Provisions for non BNL created drawings (copy of latest version stored in WINDCHILL/VAULT • Drawing numbers, formats, QA, release process, specifications also covered • Also have created rev controlled documents for: Design Review, Procurement, Procedure Format, Safety and Work Planning Guidelines sPHENIX Infrastructure, Integration & Installation CDR

  10. Approval Process • Initial Specifications • sPHENIX Parameters worksheet – derived from Conceptual Design Report • Mechanical Drawings, Infrastructure (detector support services) Documentation • Experimental cooling services support • Detector gas systems (low pressure experiment side) • Mechanical detector structural suppport Requestordesigner checker engineer chief engineerQA [VAULT] / ESRC • Facility Support • Facility mechanical support • Electrical (line) • Gas System (high pressure, supply side) • Facility Safety systems],  (CAD CM) [WINDCHILL] • Changes • Minor (do not affect performance, envelope, cost, safety, operations) subsystem engineer approval • Major (all others)sPHENIX management and as specified in governing CM (sPHENIX or CAD) sPHENIX Infrastructure, Integration & Installation CDR

  11. Integration Technical Status • Infrastructure/Central Pedestal – Pre-Conceptual • Solenoid Magnet – Conceptual • HCal Inner – Advanced Conceptual • HCal Outer – Advanced Conceptual • EMCal – Advanced Conceptual • TPC – Advanced Conceptual • INTT – Pre-Conceptual • MAPPS – Pre-Conceptual • MINBIAS – Pre-Conceptual Prec-conceptual • Pre-Conceptual – Know we can meet requirements but do not have an accurate model. • Conceptual – Have a model but no detail drawings. • Advanced Conceptual – Have a model nearly ready for detailing. • Detail Design – Detail drawings in progress. • Advanced Detail Design – Detail drawings nearly complete. • Final Design – Completed detail drawings awaiting final design review. • As Built sPHENIX Infrastructure, Integration & Installation CDR

  12. SUMMARY • Services routing and cable management preliminary concept in place. • Subsystem cad program integration (solidworks, inventor, creo etc.) Will be integrated into autodesk vault using pdf and step files. • Incorporating alignment capabilities into support design is in progress. • Inner detector integration task force was formed to help identify any integration challenges. • sPHENIX Project personnel supplemented by CAD professionals and techs sPHENIX Infrastructure, Integration & Installation CDR
