Comparison of fuel economy is relative to DURON-E 15W-40, and in combination with TRAXON Synthetic 75W-90 (relative to TRAXON 85W-140) gear oil. Actual results are dependent on external factors including, but not limited to: driving terrain, weather conditions, tire pressure and severity of operating conditions.

Lower cranking resistance means faster, easier starting, which helps protect your starter and battery. • The low temperature pumpability test measures how easily the oil flows through the engine after start-up in low temperatures. The lower the number, the less resistance there is to oil flow. Faster oil flow reduces start-up wear and enhances engine durability.

  20. Proven Fuel Savings What Makes a fuel efficient engine oil? DURON-E UHP 5W-30 has the lowest HTHS value (3.5 cP) allowed to meet ACEA and CJ-4 specs, and major OEM credentials. • The industry recognized correlation to fuel economy (FE) is an engine oil’s High Temperature High Shear (HTHS) value. The lower the value the greater the FE. • Other factors can influence FE such as viscosity modifiers, friction modifiers, and ash level of the performance additive. • Petro-Canada has conducted the industry recognized SAE J1321 Type II fuel consumption test to demonstrate FE savings, as well as the Volvo D12D engine test stand method. • The key concern with lowering engine oil viscosity is maintaining engine protection.
