  1. The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students in preschool through grade 12. It offers students opportunities to express themselves creatively in six different art categories and to receive positive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme. Special Artist Division: An option for students with disabilities who receive services under IDEA or Section 504 that provides them the accommodations and opportunities they may need to fully participate in Reflections.

  2. Reflections Arts Contest Theme: “Heroes Around Me” • Entries due to district Friday, Dec 7, 2018 • East side drop: Mayfield Elementary (by 3 pm) • West side drop: School Board Office Front Desk (by 3 pm) • 5 entries per grade division per arts category advance to district from a local unit • Original works only • All forms available on District website

  3. This is the Summary page – each category has a Rule page! Look for them on the District website.

  4. Each student must fill out a Entry Form. Legible really helps! Do not accept without the Parent Contact information completely filled out please. It will save you time if you fill out the top block before you hand them out! The website has a Word Document of this form so you can easily do this. Typing your information makes it easier to contact you when your students win! If a local unit does not have their information block filled out, your entries will be returned without being judged. The Artist Statement is worth 20 of the 40 points possible that are awarded by the judges – needs to have thought put in it!

  5. This form is done by each Local Unit to document their entries. Please make sure it is turned in with your entries. Last year six units did not turn this form in and District 3d VP did the forms – this year, your entries will be returned if form is missing.

  6. Reflections Themes come from students entering this contest! Encourage your students to give it a try!

  7. What are we missing? District VP to oversee program and 2 more chairs to run the Safety Drawing and Reflections Contest Programs A big thank you to Jennie Francart, Clearwood Jr High PTA, for volunteering to run the My Louisiana Essay Contest Program! Please volunteer!! Contract Kayla Pagel at stdptaculturalarts@gmail.com Text: 757.338.0513
