WHAT IS THE MARS SOCIETY? • Dedicated to promoting the human exploration of space, specifically Mars, through scientific, technical, political and educational means. • To further the exploration and eventual settlement of the Red Planet. • Introduce and popularize pioneering Mars by broad public outreach. • Support of government-funded Mars exploration programs worldwide. • Conduct privately-funded and financed exploration of Mars. • The San Diego chapter is a local grass-roots group supporting these goals. • "The Earth is the Cradle of Mankind, but one does not live in the cradle forever."-- Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, 1895
