… In the hospital You awaken injured from this accident.. …..to find out your spouse has been killed in the accident ….and your spouse’s best friend was driver of the vehicle
As the Spouse of the deceased…… • How would you feel about your loss as you remember your spouse prior to the trip emphasizing the need to make sure all paper work was in place should something happen? • How would you feel about your survival? • What might your feelings be towards the surviving best friend driver?
As the best friend of the deceased….. • How might you feel knowing your best friend just died in the vehicle you were driving? • What would you feel about the surviving spouse? • How would you feel about your own survival?
What if you were the parents being notified of your child’s death? What if you were the parents of the deceased and you received the insurance settlement just prior to your retirement even though your child was married?
Your now widowed son/daughter-in-law knows you received the insurance settlement despite her being married to your child and kindly asks you as parents to loan him/her half of it to further his/her education…how might you react?
Psalm 116:1-9,15 • What is the psalmist saying? • How do you react to the what the psalmist says? • Have you had a similar experience?
Habakkuk 3:17-19 (NLT) Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vine; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, [18] yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation. [19] The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He will make me as surefooted as a deer and bring me safely over the mountains.
And all you’ve worked for seems lost…. When God appears silent
In a God who is faithful and true….. It’s those times when we believe radically… As we pray, “We don’t know what to do but we are looking to You Jesus”. We stake our lives on His promise to never leave us nor forsake us…
The impact of a healthy group image is noted by three things • Teachability • Outreach orientation • Commitment to the cause
Communication is essential in a healthy group and much of it is done non-verbally today.
Three practices to aid in a healthy group outlook include: • Parade the potential and not the problems • Clarify and communicate vision • CELEBRATE the way God has worked.
