  11. PARTICIPATION FEES • Cost: • $125.00 per athlete per sport • $500.00 per family per year • Payment of fees due BEFORE athlete may participate in any practice. • Fees may be paid by cash or check. (assistance available per administrative approval.)

  12. TRANSPORTATION • Seaside School District #10 will continue to provide bus transportation TO & FROM all away games/contests. • Requests to have your child taken home by someone other than you, need to be made with a written request delivered to Dr. Roley the day before the game/contest. • Yellow, Blue, or Brown buses will take kids daily to Broadway after school. • Alternate drop off locations need parent permission.

ATHLETIC/ACTIVITY Handbook The Seaside School District Board of Education has established guidelines for academic eligibility in addition to those imposed by the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA). All athletes & participants will be required to PASS four (4) credit classes each twelve week grading period to maintain eligibility. (caution to students with off campus periods)

  14. ATHLETIC/ACTIVITY Handbook cont. • Failure to pass four (4) classes will result in the athlete/participant’s removal from all games or contests until the next term’s final grades are posted. Participation will be discontinued while the student is ineligible. • If a participant/athlete posts a failing grade during the term he/she will not be allowed to miss the failing class for games or contests.

  15. ATHLETIC/ACTIVITY Handbook cont. • Code of Conduct Violations • Alcohol/drugs 4 week suspension 1st offense • Tobacco 2 week suspension 1st offense • At an alcohol/drug gathering 2 week suspension • At a gathering and alcohol/drugs show up… Leave immediately and call your head coach.

  16. MEDICAL RELEASE FORMS • Whenever an athlete visits a doctor or emergency room for treatment related to an activity that occurred at a practice or game, a MEDICAL RELEASE from the attending doctor must be given to the coach, BEFORE the athlete may return to practice or competition. • The ImPACT Program will be highly suggested for all athletes.

  17. Attendance Athletes must attend class to be able to participate in practice and games/contests. If an athlete must miss class he/she can only participate if: The athlete communicates with the head coach the day prior to the absence that he/she will be missing school. Please include the classes that will be missed.

  18. PARENT/COACH COMMUNICATION HANDOUT Seaside School District #10 has developed a handout explaining the process of dealing with questions and concerns when your child is involved in a sport or activity. Each athlete should have received one at the Sport Registration. Additional copies are available if you did not receive one. Please read and follow this handout. If you have any questions contact the athletic office at 503.738.5586

  19. ADMISSION TO CONTESTS Admission will be charged for home Varsity and JV contests held at Seaside High School Gym or Broadway Field. • $6.00 Adults • $4.00 Students/Senior Citizens • $20.00 Football Field Pass • Free Students with ASB card • Senior Citizens (62 Years) Free with Senior Pass obtained from the Athletic Office

  21. ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT SURVEY • At the completion of each season. Athletic surveys will be available for completion by parents and or athletes. All surveys will go directly to the Athletic Director and will be used to compile data to provide professional development in the Athletic Department staff. • Copies of the survey are always available in the athletic office.

  24. At the Game/Contest • There are four duties at a game/contest. • Player • Coach • Referee • Spectator Please pick the appropriate one and do it well.
