Mahatma Gandhi • Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in Probandar, Gujarat. • He was a freedom fighter who sacrificed a lot for the country. • Gandhiji moved on a path of Satya and Ahinsa. • Gandhiji is known as father of the nation and was given a name of “Mahatma” by Ravindranath Tagore.

SardarVallabhbhai Patel • SardarVallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as “Man of Steel,” was born on Ocober 31, 1875 at Nadiad, Gujarat. • He was involved in Satyagrah during the freedom fights. • He was a successful lawyer who helped India suspend extra taxes and hence was given the title of Sardar.

  4. Morarjibhai Desai • Morarjibhai Desai was born on February, 29 1896, in Bhadeli, Gujarat. • He was the fourth prime minister of India going on the path of truth and self-confidence. • Morarjibhai Desai was given reward of “Bharat Ratna” for his contribution to the country.

  5. Vikram Sarabhai • Vikram Sarabhai was born on August 12, 1919 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. • He was a well known scientist of India who was known as father of space program of India. • Dr. Sarabhai was a leader in creating ISRO and Sarabhai Community Science Center in India.

  6. Jamshedji Tata • Jamshedji Tata was born in Navsari, Gujarat on March 3, 1839. • He established the world famous Tata Group of Industries which include Tata steel, Tata power and Tata Auto.

DhirubhaiAmbani • DhirubhaiAmbani was born on December 28, 1932, in Chorvad, Gujarat. • He established Reliance Industries, which became the third fortune 500 companies in the world. • He was given ”the man of 20th century award,” by Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industy in November 2000.
